Current Research Interest: To elucidate the signaling processes, particularly involving calcium/calmodulin-stimulated adenylyl cyclases (AC 1 and AC8), that regulate dopamine and glutamate neurotransmission and neuroplasticity in addiction. Also to understand the impact of fetal alcohol exposure on long-term cellular adaptations in addiction brain circuitry.   

Favorite Neuroscientist: James Olds and Peter Milner; performed seminal studies with brain stimulation reward that lead to the discovery of neuroanatomical structures mediating positive reinforcement and enabled motivation and reinforcement to be understood in terms of their underlying physiology.
